Staying active
Physical activity is one of your best weapons against osteoporosis. When we’re physically active, our muscles pull on our bones. The bones respond by renewing faster and becoming stronger. Weight-bearing exercises help strengthen the bones in our legs and feet, and can actually prevent fractures—especially in the hips, spine or wrists. By not getting any exercise, you’re actually doing more damage to your bones.
