Why do I suddenly need to be on insulin?
When your doctor told you they were putting you on insulin, you probably thought, "Why now?" When your blood glucose levels can be properly controlled with a healthy diet and exercise, you don't need to take insulin. But when the pancreas is no longer able to produce enough insulin, or your body doesn't respond to what's produced, it's time to start taking insulin.
